for Oboe, Bassoon, plus Miscellaneous Items

Over the course of this year it is my intent to completely liquidate the accessories
of the DRShop, and also much of my own 50+ years of personal tool accumulation.
I need the space and the time to serve your needs for print music more effectivey.
This will include tools, cane and miscellaneous items and also many unique items
.

Specials for Oboe

Thread 1 oz. spools - 3/$10 - 1 white, choose 2 from: light blue, orange, gold, red
Monster spool of red thread - nearly a pound of thread Bargain - $20 (only two available)
Bees Wax - $2 for 1 oz block -- $1 for 1/2 oz block
Oboe Plaques: Pointed -- either blued or steel -- $1 each or 6 / $5 or doz / $10
Oboe Reeds - 3/$10 - Commercial Reeds on real cork tubes - best use is for 'practice scraping' for beginning reed makers, then use the tube for new reeds - no guarantees
French scrape oboe reeds -- 5 / $20 -- purpose as above -- lots of cane, they may even make a reed.
Note: We will continue to carry and stock Roscoe Reeds at $10 each,
and we also have the 'Magic Reed' which are getting better, at $24 ea.
Keep check on the web site as I am possibly going to have a new and good source for oboe & EH reeds.

Plastic Box holds 12 reeds in French style
Bargain - $30 each
Same box as above, fitted with 6 plastic mandrels, Fox Style - Bargain -$20
Plastic 3 reed box w/ 3 plastic mandrels - Bargain $15
Classic 3 reed French leather box - new - Bargain $35
Classic 3 reed as above with slight fault in the leather covering - $30

Knives:
Vitry, hollow ground - $25 each or 5/$100 - not my favorite, but a good all around utility knife
Miscellaneous Knives: Beveled, good MCW, 1 new at $25, has velcro on handle for display board
Folding reed knife, probably best for bassoonists - $25

Used knives: $15 ea. all right handed beved, 1 ea. Pisoni, MCW, lots of steel & edge yet

Mandrels: all flat handles, good life time quality oboe mandrels
Good, new, blue steel handle - $25 each or 5/$100
Loree mandrel, one only at $60
Traditional wood triangular handle - 2 are Loree style - $30 ea. / 3 are Pissoni? - $25.00
A lot of EH and d'amore mandrels - $15 each -
here is your chance to abandon your make-shift methods

Repair equipment: set yourself up for a fraction of the retail cost
Octave vent remover: fixed prong $10 -- adjustable prong -- $20
Spring hook: double notched to push or pull spring, double ended 2 sizes.$10 each
Bench screw driver, long handle, bassoon size: $20
Post turner, double ended, 2 sizes, a little rusty - $2
Pad slick, for seating pads - $2

Instrument Stands:
Fox - black plastic oboe stand $15 ea. (I have two)
Loree - purple plastic EH Stand $25 ea.(I have 2)
Black - sturdy metal - Stand and oboe peg $30 'Grow with me' can add more pegs
Three special pegs: oboe, clar., flute all three $50 --
These are special, originally to be used with a Harrison/Hurtz stand. If you are a wood worker and a doubler you can have a $200 stand!

Oboe tubes / staples: in multiples of 10 -- I have a lot of different options keep checking as I find them!
Glotin or Ghys silver 46 and 47 mm (specify) -- 10 / $40
Loree brass 'DM' tubes 47 mm -- All 21 for $50 or 10 / $30
Loree silver 46 mm -- all 24 for $100 or 10 / $50
Misc. silver 47 mm -- 10 / $40 -- don't know what they are but they perfectly fit my Loree mandrel

Oboe cane -- tube cane and pregouged in 10-mm and 11+mm
Oboe Cane -- I have a lot of it - well seasoned- most is either large or small diameter, not much 10.5
Almost a pound of Danzi 10.5 - 11 mm diameter -- pkgs of 12 tubes @ $10 each pkg.
Smaller tubes, Danzi (I think) 20 tubes / $10
(maybe ca. 50 pieces left)
Lots of 10mm and less and 11mm and biger (specify size)-
mostly Ghys, ca. 20 years old- sorted 25 pc./ $10
Pre gouged oboe cane ready for easy gouging, again lots of 11+ mm and 10- mm 25/$10
Tools to measure cane: tube cane gauge - $15 - measures 9 - 11.5 mm
Straight cane gauge $15
- measures 10 - 12 mm - 1/2 circles to measure straight & gouged cane
Calipers - measure in inches or mm - $10
Easels -- Oboe & EH - $10 each

Big Stuff -- used, etc. -- Gouging, etc.:
Pre-gouging machine -- $200 -- one pass planes, 2nd pass pregouges, saves your gouger blades,
11 mm bed, heavy brass, my own design - years ago before these things were popular, works great
!

Oboe cane profiler -- $950 -- An old Pfieffer machine made to my specifications many years ago.
Has a defined point at which the tip begins and good center spine. I could finish a reed in 3 minutes on this machine. Some of you may have used profiled cane off of this machine at my Double Reed Camps in Michigan. This represents an oboe reed business for someone! and I would buy for the DRS!

Oboe Gouger - RDG w/ gillotine - 11 mm -- $950 -- only one left
New is now $1650 and blades are $195 from Forrests. They have not changed much over the years!

Triangular cane splitter for oboe / EH tube cane, simple -- $20


For English Horn: Used #2 Loree bocal - $50 - will need recorking soon, otherwish good

Reed Boxes:
Metal vinyl covered box, 5-6 reed French style - $25 ea
Plastic box w/4mandrels - Fox - bargain $20
As above but with a funky furry linning - $10 - express your artistic self and redo it to suit yourself

Tools for reed making:
Bassoon Plaques: Plastic contour, good all around plaque for students - $2 ea
Flat plaque, brass, gold color metal, round - $1 ea or 6/$5
large cutting blocks (to cut tip) - $10 ea

Bassoon Mandrels:
Fox: 1 forming, 1 holding, both for $25 or $15 each
Interchangable, one handle, 2 tips (one forming and one holding) $25 for set - Accurate Manfct
Extra forming tips -- $5 each -- no drying board (make your own with a block of wood and a drill)

Reamers:.
Fox and Pisoni, Standard reamer - $20 ea (3 of them)
Accurate Manufacturing - Spiral - $75 -- Really good! (the only reamer other than my old Popkin spiral that works, and on a wet reed!)
Another Spiral - pretty good - new - $50 - (European but I don't know who made it)
One more used standard reamer, $5 - (It is short ?)
Round bastard files - $5 each -- They make a pretty good reamer, especially if altered andmounted in a handle

Brass Wire: 1 oz spool #24 gauge - $4 ea
1 pound spool of 24 gauge - $20 (only one left)
Really good Wire Cuttters - $20
Pliers -- good for smaller hands -- w/ wire cutters and crimping for reed tube - $50 - 1 pair

Miscellaneous
Dampit -- 2 only - $10 ea and 1 Bell joint also at $10 -- Winter is not far off!
Tool case - double leather w/2 zipper sections: $50 Special -- It will really hold every tool you have, even those you seldom use!

Shipping tubes for reeds -- stock of long tubes, you cut to length & add top & bottoms, which come with
Blocks - 15 of them -- they need a non slip cushion on the bottom & a little polishing -- take all for $30

Dial indicator set up for reeds, $200 -- large dial really nice set up by Accurate Manufacturing
Dial indicator for measuring reeds
, set up with needle - used but works fine. $100 (new today $260+)
Balance Hanger - silver - will need installation by a technician - $90

Neat little silver oiler can w /needle, $5 - designed for the service bands to travel, use your own oil
Special Oil in plastic bottle with curved needle to reach all little pivot screws - $5 - (2 left)
Sanding board -- 10 inches of usable surface plus handle and hole to hange in on the wall
one side is wet dry sand paper, the other leather -- must be useful for someone! $5 each

For Flute:
Bo Pep - flute finger rest for the left hand - $5 - regular or sized for small hands, specify

For Clarinet & Saxophone
Reed Trimmers / Tip cutters -- Prestini & Cordier- 2 Clarinet, Bass Clar, all saxes

Haynes Flute $2500 (or make an offer) - C foot, closed hole, ca.1950, good playable condition,
I am only the second owner (for 40 years) and have played it very little in the last 30 years.
As an oboist it is the only flute I can blow against, like an oboe reed, and it takes all I give it - big sound!
